On Wednesday morning, one of my bosses spotted me in the teacher lunch room and asked if everything was okay. She said that I didn't look like myself lately. "I know you're not a hugger," she said, "but sometimes we just need a hug." It was true. I'm not a hugger, but I did need a hug. And a cookie.
A power-skirt is a little bit like a power tie and a little bit like a power animal. No matter how nervous or scared you are, your skirt says "Seriously? You're gonna mess with me when I'm wearing a cobalt blue skirt? You don't have the guts to wear this skirt!"
Of course, it doesn't have to be a tie or a skirt. It's the item in your closet that makes you feel like no one can mess with you.
Don't be surprised if you see this skirt two days in a row--parent teacher conferences are tonight!

I'm so sorry to hear you're having a poopy go of things lately- you'll be happy to know that your outfit really does ooze strength. I am a cobalt fanatic and am so envious of the fit and color of yours! My power article is a simple pearl necklace- classic, simple; but a strong woman who knows what she's doing wears pearls.
